Met Eireann has warned that temperatures are expected to drop well below the average for this time of year with figures close to -3C expected tonight.
"There is no doubt about it that the weather will feel cold and temperatures will be lower than expected,” said Siobhan Ryan of Met Eireann in today’s Irish Independent.
With the cold snap about to descend, motorists are being warned of hazardous driving conditions, with widespread frost and ice predicted.
Sunday night is expected to bring rain with a slight rise in temperatures.
For all those getting into costume this weekend, don’t say you haven’t been warned!
