Prepare to be sickened by another lucky Lotto story

17/08/2012 1:53 pm

Prepare to feel a little bit sickened as you hear about the tourists to Ireland that won big in the Euromillions on Tuesday.

Some people have it, some people don’t but you can always be allowed to be a little bit jealous of people that have more than their fair share of luck.

We heard how Gillian and Adrian Bayford scooped €190million in Tuesday night’s bumper Euromillions Lotto, the couple when Adrian accidentally called Gillian on a wrong number.

This came the same week Margaret Doherty and Pat O’Hagan, a separated couple from Donegal won €250,000 on separate tickets on the Irish Lotto and as we reported earlier one man from Antrim benefitted from getting his wife’s age wrong for once.

Well here's another in the Irish Daily Mirror today it was reported that a tourist couple from the US won big on the Euromillions as well, scooping €500,000.

The couple, who wish to remain private, were visiting Ireland with their teenage son when they bought their ticket in Easons on O’Connell Street in Dublin and collected their bounty yesterday.

The husband said that he bought the ticket, while trying to recapture some of the fond memories of his youth, “When I was a boy growing up I’d often visit Easons on O’Connell Street on a FrIday evening to browse the magazines and book,” he said.

“I wanted to recreate that special feeling from my childhood and visited Easons last Friday.”

With all those stories during the week of strange coincidence, it just shows that life’s a lottery.
