Vincent Browne to apologise for gun and whiskey remark about Enda Kenny

04/10/2010 12:00 pm

Vincent Browne is set to make a public apology to Enda Kenny, after a Fine Gael senator complained about a comment Browne made on TV3.

Veteran broadcaster Browne suggested at the end of Tonight with Vincent Browne that Enda Kenny should go into a dark room with a gun and a bottle of whiskey.

The remark caused offense to Fine Gael’s Paddy Burke, from County Mayo, who made a complaint to the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI).

Last night, Browne confirmed that he would apologise.

Absurd that Browne's been made to feel he needs to apologise. Just when did Kim Jong-Il take over here and start making the media feel they have to kowtow and apologise for everything. It may not have been the most PC phrase, but it summed things up pretty succinctly
