The Friday Boost: Huge lotto win for ultimate nice guy
Stories really do not come much more feelgood than this. 22 year old Sandeep "Sunny" Singh was having a particularly tough time; he’d been supporting his mother and his family since he was 14 years old, his girlfriend had just dumped him and he was continually working in a series of low paid jobs while attending college just to keep food on the table. Then something marvelous happened.
Sunny, as you can see above, found a monumental piece of luck and won $30.5 million on the Massachusetts state lottery having impulse-purchased a ticket at a convenience store less than 24 hours beforehand. He said, "I didn't know what to do, I dropped the ticket, my mom picked up the ticket, she started reading it, she had to read it a few times to like figure out we actually won. It was amazing."
Currently working two jobs to support his family, he had it harsh from a young age, "My dad was around and then he passed away when I was a freshman in high school. So that's when I really started helping out," said Singh. But he isn’t planning on buying a ferrari just yet, so what is he planning on splashing out on? "Three main things: helping my mom with her mortgage, helping family and donating money to the community."
As for the ex-girlfriend who dumped him a few weeks previously... "She broke up with me, but right now, I'm not really worried about it. I was heartbroken at first, but now I'm getting over it." Good man, Sunny!
