Aer Lingus release statement after all flights to and from Gatwick are suspended

Aer Lingus have released a brief statement after the airline are just one of the many companies that have been impacted by the ongoing issues at Gatwick.

As reported previously, all flights to and from Gatwick have been suspended due to ongoing drone activity activity around the airport. The airport have confirmed that there are significant delays and cancellations to all flights today, 20 December.

Authorities at Gatwick Airport have asked people not to travel to the airport without checking the status of their flight with their airline first.

On this note, Aer Lingus have said that “Flight disruptions and cancellations are expected due to the closure of airspace over Gatwick. Please check your flight status before departing for the airport. Affected guests can be accommodated on the next available flight or cancel and apply for a refund.”

Gatwick have apologised to those affected but stressed that “the safety of all our passengers and staff is their number one priority.”
