Argos has launched its annual Christmas recruitment campaign and is looking to fill 800 temporary places to work in its stores nation wide.
As the Christmas adverts begin to roll out, so too do the temporary jobs. At a time when our unemployment rate is so high, currently 14.3 per cent, we can be thankful for any job on offer - even the temporary ones.
Terry Duddy, Argos Managing Director said, "Argos is a fun, interesting and busy place to be over Christmas so we are excited about finding passionate and enthusiastic staff that can join the team.
“With thousands of customers passing through our doors over the period, the new recruits will really help us deliver great customer service this Christmas."
According to Business World, around 70 per cent of the Irish population lives less than thirty minutes away from one of the 41 Argos stores nation wide. This offers an obvious advantage for anyone looking for a job over the economically tough holiday period.
"Along with flexible working hours, training and competitive pay, new recruits will get an immediate 10% staff discount, helping to ease the pinch on their own shopping costs," said a statement from the retailer.
Application forms for the jobs can be picked up in store or else they can be accessed from the Argos website.
