The switch from analogue to digital television is hitting the country fairly soon, but there are still concerns that some of you out there just aren't ready for it.
In this day and age you’d expect most households to have some sort of digital UPC set-up or even cable (also known as ‘the pipe’ in Ireland), however, it’s obvious that some of you out there still have a TV that’s just hooked up to an aerial.
There are only 4 months left until the big switch is made but all you have to do to prepare yourself is to buy a Saorview box - if you do so happen to use an aerial for your television.
Speaking to NewsTalk earlier today, the Communications Minister Pat Rabbitte said, “We want everyone to avail of this service.
“There has been a fairly considerable investment put into it and we have the contacts at a parish level to ensure that nobody is left behind”.
So make sure you don’t get caught out, otherwise you might not be able to catch everything that Saorview has to offer like the new episode of Nationwide, or the latest instalment of the Jedwards.
