Bank holiday weekend to be a scorcher
Met Eireann is predicting a cracking bank holiday weekend with high temperatures and sunny skies.
The hot weather will run through today and into tomorrow with Thursday lining up to “be a bright fine and warm day with variable small amounts of cloud and good spells of sunshine”.
Highest temperatures on Thursday will range between 17 and 21 degrees in a moderate southeast breeze.
The office also predicted that “the warm humid weather will continue through the Holiday weekend”.
Good Friday will start dry in the east, but showery rain getting into the west soon after daybreak will spread east to most places during the afternoon, and some heavy outbreaks are possible in places.
It’ll be very mild with temperatures in the high teens with a moderate southerly breeze.
Further showers will occur on Friday night, though these will clear later in the night.
Saturday will be a bright and dry day with some pleasant sunshine. It’ll be fresher with temperatures in the mid teens. Then apart from a little drizzle or light rain in the northwest of the country, Easter Sunday will be a warm and mostly dry day with sunny breaks.
There are tons of events on the go around Ireland both north and south of the border – keep an eye on the JOE.ie travel section for what is being lined up.
