A woman from Dublin is suing the famous nightclub Copper Face Jacks after she fell and broke her arm on what she alleges was a wet dance floor.
Ciara O'Connell, from Tallaght in Dublin, broke her arm in Coppers back in the early hours of August 4, 2006, after slipping with a colleague on what she claims was a wet floor.
Ms O’Connell is now suing Breanagh Catering Ltd, trading as Copper Face Jacks, for an undisclosed sum. However, the nightclub denies her claims and says she was dancing in a ‘Dirty Dancing’ style with her work colleague, Noel Humphries, when the fall occurred.
According to the
Irish Times Ms O’Connell claims Mr Humphries had slipped on the floor and then fell on to her causing her to fall to the ground while the club claims she was dancing dangerously and recklessly.
However, Ms O’Connell says she was ‘just dancing’ with Mr Humphries when he slipped and pulled her down. According to the
Irish Independent, Ms O’Connell was told by her colleagues that the floor was wet, but she couldn't recall if it was.
