We’re not at all convinced but there appears to be some ‘footage’ of a UFO flying over an Irish estate with a helicopter in pursuit doing the rounds on the web.
In footage posted up on American contributor website author, journalist and “paranormal examiner” Tom Rose claims that a video posted by Youtube account tracey26m features an "amazing sight of a UFO flying erratically near a pursuing police helicopter in the rain-soaked, cloudy skies over an unidentified Irish village."
The quality isn’t the best but Rose writes in a report that was picked up by Irish-American website Irish Central that “the aerodynamic acrobatics of the unidentified flying object, which seems to be dancing circles around the helicopter, are unlike any conventional aircraft known today.
“The amazed villager who catches the action lets fly some well-placed Irish swear words, but who can blame him for that? The incident is absolutely amazing and quite confusing,.” Yes an Irish “villager” would be quite confused by the site of two dots circling each other the sky, whatever could they be? Clearly alien spacecraft...
“As the UFO video plays out, the chopper closes in on the object circling in the sky," continues Rose, "As it draws nearer and begins to hover, the unknown aircraft starts to fly around the helicopter crazily,” says Rose before asserting “Any responsible pilot would know how dangerous such manoeuvres can be, so there’s no good explanation for what is happening."
We aren’t convinced giving that for no apparent reason Rose asserts that this was taken in an Irish village, despite there being no evidence that it’s a village, from the backgarden that the cameraman is shooting from. The Youtube account from which the footage originates from also has dubious “sightings” of other UFOs from the exact same back garden position as the video.
So unless someone convinces us otherwise we’re skeptical of this.
Edit: According to JOE reader Aaron McClenaghan (@aaronjmcc) the video was shot in some quaint, obscure Irish village called Belfast.
