‘Sean Connery’ may have left a bike owner shaken and stirred after stealing their wheels at NUI Galway, but quickly showed remorse.
By Declan Whooley
The man who went under the alias of the 007 agent to protect his own identity had a guilty conscience after taking the bike and posted a message on the NUIG Memes Facebook page to admit what he had done. He also put up leaflets around campus to find the owner.
Describing his actions as an “act of drunken scumbaggery,” he admits he was “far too drunk” and has come to his senses.

We have to say fair play to lad for holding his hands up, though Paul Curley, head of the students’ union at NUI, Galway said they understood the thief was not a student at the college.
“We don't think it's a student. All the students have been off the campus for about three weeks now. We start earlier in the year and have our exams earlier than some other universities,” he told The Irish Independent.
It’s not often you hear of a thief looking to return a stolen item to its rightful owner, and anyone missing their bike from the NUIG campus need to contact Connery, Sean Connery.
