Pic: Laundry shop owner in Lusk pens brilliant letter to thief who stole her tree

If this doesn’t guilt the thief or thieves in question into handing the tree back, we don’t know what will.

With only a few weeks to go until Christmas it’s meant to be the season of goodwill, but at least one person or perhaps more people in the vicinity of Lusk in north Dublin didn’t get the memo after stealing one of a pair of bay trees from outside the Life’s 2 short for Laundry shop in the village recently. The theft of the tree was obviously a huge cause of anger for owner Sandra Smith, but she managed to channel it into a charming letter addressed to those responsible for the robbery, which she posted in the shop and on the shop’s Facebook page. Unfortunately it’s unlikely that the letter will guilt the thief responsible into handing the tree back (we’re sure Sandra wouldn’t mind if it was put back anonymously during the night) but that shouldn’t take away from the brilliance of Sandra’s letter, particularly the very cutting last line in particular. That’ll teach anyone that wants to mess with the folks at Life’s 2 short for laundry in the future; it’s safe to say they’ll be taken to the cleaners.
