Three students in Roscommon have been reinstated in their school having originally been suspended for letting a goat loose on the school Astroturf pitch. No kidding.
Let’s face it lads, we were all a little immature in our school days and forever looking for different ways in which to cause mischief, so we have a little degree of sympathy for a group of lads in Strokestown who took a prank just a little bit too far and nearly ended up paying dearly for their actions.
According to a report in The Star, three Leaving Cert students in Scoil Mhuire in Strokestown were suspended after a goat was let loose on the school’s Astroturf pitch and whether they ‘fessed up themselves or somebody grassed them out, they were soon identified and suspended for their actions.
In Nanny case, after what must have been much bleating in the wake of the incident, the three guilty students have been given a reprieve and are now back in school, although no doubt the message about avoiding involvement in similar incidents in the future has been rammed down their throats.
Roscommon Councillor Eugene Murray said: “The three students were back doing projects today and the matter has been resolved.”
With the Leaving Cert only a matter of weeks away, that will surely be the last time these lads act the goat for some time, or until the exams are over at least.
