The Irish summer may have been pretty miserable so far, but it finally looks to be improving as forecasters predict that a heat wave is on its way.
We don’t want to jinx it, but it looks as though you can put the umbrella away for now, as the rest of the week should hopefully stay fairly dry. That’s according to Met Éireann who is predicting temperatures of 19-23C for the weekend.
Some experts have even predicted that an Irish heat wave could be a real possibility next week seeing as Spain is currently going through one and it looks to be pushing it's way north towards Ireland. However, we have a feeling that most of you will be away on holidays by that stage. Murphy’s Law and all that…
But will there really be a heat wave? Well, it has been predicted mainly because there will be strong air currents blowing up from the Mediterranean, which will be a nice break from the blustery cold winds that we’re used to, so hopefully we'll see that Spanish heat wave head our way.
However, like any nice weather that we get in this country it will be short lived, as rain will become widespread across Connacht, Ulster and in parts of west Munster by Monday.
We won’t even bother telling you what it’s going to be like for the rest of next week because no doubt it will just change.
