Homenews

Have you had trouble getting to work this morning?

As if the Dublin Bus strike wasn’t going to cause enough hassle for commuters in Dublin, the Luas has served notice of disruptions to the Luas Green Line on Thursday morning. In a statement, Luas passengers were advised that the Green Line is operating between Carrickmines and St Stephen's Green only and that there is no service between Brides Glen and Carrickmines. https://twitter.com/Luas/status/773752187742744576 The disruption has been caused by power lines being down at Laughanstown Stop. Maintenance are on site and working to restore power in this area. The Luas Red Line is continuing to operate as normal. Despite calls from the AA to open up bus lanes to motorists during the Dublin Bus strike, meanwhile, Gardaí have advised that bus lanes will operate as normal as they will continue to be used by other public service vehicles, emergency service vehicles and cyclists. https://twitter.com/GardaTraffic/status/773609285003649024 An Garda Siochána say that they recognise that the public will face difficulties and are encouraging commuters to plan ahead and identify alternatives forms of (public) transport. Traffic is expected to be extremely heavy on commuter routes, especially during morning and evening peaks. Iarnród Éireann have said that their services are extremely busy and all available space on their trains is being utilised. https://twitter.com/IrishRail/status/773771737917980673 It's going to be a long morning...
