Speaking about the decision to resign he says that he "never wanted to be a career politician" and that after achieving his "aim in politics to get Britain out the EU" , there was nothing left to achieve.
Farage added that he will continue to support the Ukip party and their new leader while adding that he's looking forward to helping anti-EU movements that have sprung up in other parts of the European Union.
The controversial politician also remarked that he "wants his life back" following his successful Brexit campaign and feels that Douglas Carswell would be a worthy successor as leader of Ukip.
