PICS: Group of men in Dublin cause outrage by wearing blackface

Homenews

A group of men in Dublin have caused anger and offence by dressing up in 'blackface' costumes while drinking in the city.

Some of the men, who were spotted on Saturday, appeared to be dressed up as characters from popular comedy movie Cool Runnings - whereas some appeared to be entirely without costume besides brown face-paint. Both Facebook posts and tweets have emerged criticising the large group of men, including one assertion that "these racist idiots decided that it was okay to wear brown and black faces to a pub in Dublin city centre while laughing in my face and everyone who called out their racist representations." https://twitter.com/Limerick1914/status/755333811353882624 https://twitter.com/RPJblog/status/754768984159944704 In case you can't see the Facebook post, here it is in full: So these racist idiots decided that it was okay to wear brown and black faces to a pub in Dublin city centre while laughing in my face and everyone who called out their racist representations. Thanks to my ancestors for the serenity because I was so close to smacking the smug off their ignorant racist faces. To think they so desperately include Irish people in slavery conversations smh. Any idiot who uses Irish people as examples of white slavery should drown in the freaking liffey ???.
