The nose wheel of a light airport collapsed upon the plane’s landing at Cork Airport on Saturday.
The incident took place on runway 16, as the aircraft – believed to be a training plane – was descending after travelling from Waterford to Cork.
The official Cork Airport Twitter account stated that the runway was temporarily closed afterwards, with emergency crews attending the scene.
No injuries were reported regarding the pilot of the aircraft, who walked away following the landing.

Several flights were subsequently delayed as a result.
It’s been a bit of a surreal Saturday for Cork Airport, following the discovery of an exotic animal on the grounds.
Photos of a ring-tailed coati, a creature native to the jungles of South America, were shared by the airport’s official social media accounts.
A spokesperson for the airport took to social media to explain that the animal had previously been spotted in Ballygarvan, before making its way to the airport itself.
A later update noted that the animal had been successfully retrieved.
