Live TV, eh?
It seems that RTE had a few technical issues this evening as the planned broadcast of the 9 0'Clock News was delayed by 11 minutes.
Those pesky gremlins in the system meant that the station had to initially display a blue backdrop before cutting to a series of advertisements that were played on a loop.
Newsreader Eileen Dunne is the toast of Twitter this evening though after she performed absolute heroics to deliver the people of Ireland their news.
The incident prompted a few funny tweets from people all over the country but on a serious note, fair play to all the staff at RTÉ because this type of problem is extremely difficult to solve when dealing with the stresses of live TV.
