Astronaut Chris Hadfield to retire

The most famous astronaut of recent times is definitely Chris Hadfield, but it seems that he has called time on his stellar career

Commander Chris Hadfield, the astronaut who became a celebrity thanks to his brilliant tweets and videos from the International Space Station, has decided to call an end to his career just one month after returning to Earth. The Canadian captured a range of stunning images of our fair island from up in space, as well as a range other loacations, which took our breath away. He also sent out some fantastic tweets, including showing us how to live in space, as well as how to sing David Bowie while floating about up there. Sky News are reporting that the iconic astronaut will bring his career to a close with the Canadian Space Agency, and we were definitely sad to hear the news.

He stated that the trip to the ISS was “a pinnacle” of his career, and that he wants to concentrate on personal interests. He will, of course, be missed, and we wish him all the best for his retirement.
