Harrowing pictures of the aftermath of the Boston Marathon explosion

One of America’s biggest sports events, the Boston Marathon, has been hit with a brace of explosion at the finish line, injuring a number of people.

Today’s Boston Marathon has been the victim of some sort of explosion, possibly two, from a building or rubbish bin near the finish line.

At this stage it is unclear if the incident was an accident, a terrorist attack or something else but what is clear is that there are a number of severe injuries to competitors and others. Fox News initially reported three people died in the incident but now most are saying that so far there have only been two confirmed deaths.
