Two men from the Edmonton Fire Rescue service are being hailed as heroes today after they saved a dog from a frozen river.
While out walking with its owner yesterday morning this poor pooch managed to fall into the North Saskatchewan River in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Once the unnamed owner of the pooch realised that her dog had become stuck in the freezing cold water she called for a rescue team. That’s when Chris Nielsen and a fellow lifesaver jumped into action to save the day... or at the very least, the dog’s life.
In the space of 4 minutes the lads managed to get a raft out to the dog, called Bella, where they pulled her aboard and then back onto dry land. Thankfully, Bella survived the whole incident, but you can’t help feel sorry for the poor dog as it tries to keep its head above water in the video below. It just looks so sad...
