If you thought Alf Stewart supporting Mayo was good, check out who the female cast members of Home and Away will be cheering on this weekend.
We like Alf and all, if we’ve laughed at him calling someone a flamin’ gallah or a flamin’ mongrel once we’ve laughed a thousand times, but he’s well behind April on the list of our favourite Home and Away characters.
How great it must be then for Galway supporters, particularly male Galway supporters, to see the lovely April (played by Rhiannon Fish) as well as Bianca and Irene from the show lending their support to the Tribesmen ahead of the All-Ireland Hurling Final replay this weekend.
A group of Galway fans in Sydney took it upon themselves to nip down to the Channel 7 studios in an effort to get some Home and Away cast members to show their true colours and they were only too happy to oblige.

Pictured from the left above are Rhiannon Fish (April in Home and Away), Carmel Meehan from Clare, Lynne McGranger (Irene in Home and Away), Lisa Gormley (Bianca in Home and Away), Laura Glynn, sister of Galway player Jonathan, and Eimhin O’Malley, who sent us in the picture on Facebook.
The sight of the Home and Away women, particularly April, getting behind the boys in maroon will surely encourage plenty of Galway faithful ahead of the rematch with the Cats on Sunday.
It’s just a pity they couldn’t get a picture of her in a Galway jersey, which would admittedly be a little bit of a departure from the stuff we’re used to seeing her wear on screen.

Any excuse at all...
