Pic: Perpignan’s Richard Haughton suffered a horrific head wound in the defeat to Munster (Graphic content)
Certainly not one for the squeamish…
It was another miracle finish for Munster rugby in the weekend’s Heineken Cup match against Perpignan, but one player who was slightly worse for wear come Monday morning was the French side’s winger, Richard Haughton.
During the dramatic and bruising encounter, the Englishman was taken off in the 19th minute after suffering a very nasty-looking head wound as a result of his team-mate Sébastien Vahaamahina’s unfortunate stomp to the head. We reckon a certain lock has been crossed off Haughton’s Christmas card list this year.
Those rugby lads are hard as nails though as this graphic image tweeted by Francisco Capizzi certainly proves, revealing that Haughton is now sporting a huge Frankenstein-esque stitch across his forehead.
That’s next year’s Halloween outfit sorted anyway…
