Thanks to our good friends at PUMA, we have a pair of tickets to give away to Ireland’s massive game with Argentina on Saturday at Aviva Stadium.
We’ll level with you; we’re not 100 per cent sure how the IRB rankings work. To be honest, we’re not sure anybody does. But ignoring Wales’ woes, and Samoa’s rise, Declan Kidney and Ireland need a win on Saturday for a number of reasons.
Paramount is, of course, the ranking battle and Ireland’s hopes of staying in the top eight and being seeded for the 2015 Rugby World Cup draw. We’re currently seventh, less than a point adrift of Argentina, while Wales, Samoa and Scotland are all just behind us.
Whatever the permutations below us for eighth spot, a win over the Pumas will ensure we stay in the elite eight. It may yet lead to a brutal draw, and knowing our luck it probably will, but it will ease some pressure on Kidney.
The other reason we need a win is that a five Test losing streak really doesn’t want to become six ahead of the Six Nations. In short, this is as big an Autumn international as Ireland have played in a very long time and with perhaps some of the new faces who starred in Limerick last week making the cut, it should be a cracker between two very evenly matched squads.
And now, thanks to our good friends, and Irish rugby shirt suppliers PUMA, we have a pair of tickets to the big game to give away. And, don't forget, the new Irish alternate black jersey by PUMA is still available in all Elverys Sports stores nationwide.
Now, to be in with a chance of winning a possibly nerve wracking Saturday treat, just answer the simple question below.
