A stupidly reckless and dangerous ‘tip tackle’ has landed Wallaby Rob Simmons with a very long ban.
Late on Saturday the Aussies kicked off their northern hemisphere tour with a crushing 33-6 defeat at the hands of the French in Paris.
We’re sure the Aussies will shrug it off but they will continue their tour with the services of Rob Simmons because of this tackle. The lock was only on the field one minute when he performed this extremely stupid move on France’s Yannick Nyanga.
No card was issued by Nigel Owens during the game but Simmons was cited and today he was hit with an eight-week ban that only counts for ‘active’ weeks.
That means that Simmons will be cooling his heels on the sideline until February 24 next year. He might think twice next time.
