Munster are up to second in the RaboDirect PRO12 table after a 32-23 win over Connacht at the Sportsground on Saturday evening.

Following a scoreless opening quarter of an hour, Connacht took the lead through a Miah Nikora penalty but that was quickly wiped out when Andrew Conway went over for the first try of the match.

Matt Healy’s try made it 8-7 to the home side but, once again, Rob Penney’s side rallied with two Ian Keatley penalties and a pair of tries from Gerhard van den Heever and Denis Hurley.

Eoin McKeon’s second half try made it 27-13, but when Paddy Butler went over the match was secured for Munster.

A late converted try from Danie Poolman put some respectability on the board for Connacht, but Munster were too strong for their opponents.
