If you weren’t already excited about the beginning of the new RaboDirect PRO12 season, then this brief promotional video should get you in the mood.
The league kicks off with reigning champions Leinster taking on the Scarlets in Llanelli tomorrow evening and from then until next May, rugby fans can look forward to pretty much uninterrupted egg-chasing every weekend for the next nine months.
There is an awful lot to look forward to, such as the inter-provincial meetings between the Irish provinces and the performances of potential stars in the making looking to catch the watchful eye of Irish coach Joe Schmidt, while it will be interesting to see if the participating teams can better the 536 tries and 5,339 points scored in the competition last season.
Rugby fans might have found themselves at something of a loose end since the Lions Tour but that won’t be a problem for the foreseeable future, a comforting thought as we enter the cold winter months.
