Munster annihilated Edinburgh to keep up their charge in the RaboDirect PRO12 with a 55-12 victory on Saturday.

Rob Penney’s side had to come from behind after early tries from Carl Bezuidenhout and Willem Nel but ran in seven tries to leave them third in the table, just a single point behind Glasgow.

Andrew Conway and Denis Hurley both went over in the first half – with JJ Hanrahan converting both and kicking a couple of penalties – and Munster really turned on the style in the second period.

Two penalty tries and efforts from Damien Varley, Duncan Williams and Tommy O’Donnell put the icing on the cake, while Hanrahan and Conor Murray were both faultless with the boot.
