Munster’s Cathal Sheridan was a little too eager to get off the field in their game against Edinburgh last night

Munster took on Edinburgh in the Rabo Direct Pro 12 last night, and Rob Penney’s men proved they were too strong for the understrength Scots as they won by a scoreline of 34-23.

However, with the clock ticking down and a win in the bag, one of the Munster subs, Cathal Sheridan, was eager to get off the pitch and get the match over with, seeing as they’d already done their job.

Warned to use it by the ref, Sheridan picks the ball up and kicks it out of play, but is genuinely stunned when that move isn’t greeted by the sound of the final whistle, as the man in charge reminds him that there are still two minutes left on the clock.

To be fair to Cathal, he’s not wearing a watch and the scoreboard does say 80 minutes, so it’s easy enough to see how he got it wrong.

Here’s a round up on the tries from last night too, in case you haven’t seen them yet.
