Pic: The Bull Hayes looks right at home in the Late Late make-up chair. Or maybe not.
He’s played in front of packed stadiums all over the world, but given the nature of the man, an appearance on the Late Late was probably one of the most daunting things John Hayes has ever done.
An appearance on live television with hundreds of thousands of people tuning in across the country meant that the Bull had to go through the formality of getting the make-up done beforehand and as is evident from this snap taken by former team-mate Alan Quinlan last night, he looked right at home in the make-up chair. Or maybe not.

If he was a bag of nerves, the Bull didn’t show it as he and wife Fiona came across very well and he wasn’t even put off by the fact that all of his ex-Munster colleagues were watching on from the same hotel that the Bull was staying in last night.
He often struggles when interviewing guests from the sporting world, but even Tubs managed alright; perhaps he was intimidated by Hayes’ sheer presence alongside him.
The Bull looked so comfortable on the box in fact that a possible career as a rugby pundit like his former colleagues Quinlan, Sheahan and Flannery could potentially be an option, but somehow, we can't see that happening anytime soon.
