Rugby player ruptures testicle just after half-time, plays full second half

Warrington’s Paul Wood is a considerably better man than us, after playing the entire second half of Super League’s Grand Final with a ruptured testicle that later had to be removed.

The big day in the Rugby League calendar, the Super League Grand Final, ended in victory for Leeds yesterday by a score of 26-18 over Warrington.

Kevin Sinfield scored 14 points for the victors but hero of the match must now go to Warrington's Paul Wood. It has emerged today that Wood ruptured his right testicle in the opening minute of the second half but he decided to play on.

Not only did Wood play on, he continued to commit to tackles and even agreed to do post-match interviews with the media without mentioning his horrific injury.

Wood was eventually brought to hospital and the player confirmed on Twitter this morning that the testicle had been removed.

We can only wish him all the best and applaud his outstanding bravery and toughness.
