Nicknamed Shrek and weighing in at more than 20 stone, Coenie Oosthuizen is a hard man to stop, as poor old Jack Lam learned.
We’ve had a fair few big rugby hits in the last few days. From Jonny Wilkinson getting knocked back for Toulon to Wallaby James O’Connor feeling the full force of Rene Ranger, what we have learned is you have to go low on the big guy or else.
Sadly Hurricanes flanker Jack Lam didn’t get the memo. He tries to stop the rampaging Cheetahs prop Coenie Oosthuizen here and fails. Badly.
As we said Oosthuizen is a very big unit, moving at considerable speed and Lam bounces off him, stays down and had to leave the game.
Speaking at half-time, and quoted on RugbyDump (thanks for the video lads), the big fella said: "He was a little bit unlucky, I think I caught him on the wrong foot.”
So he might be hard to stop, but at least Oosthuizen is a nice chap.
