Video: Sonny Bill Williams signs off in style
In what could be his final game of rugby in New Zealand, All Black Sonny Bill Williams signed off in style.
Over the weekend the final of southern hemisphere rugby’s Super 15 took place and Sonny Bill Williams starred for the victorious Chiefs.
If this game turns out to be Sonny Bill Williams last game of rugby union in his homeland, then the monstrous, multi-talented centre signed off in some style.
Williams is due to begin a one-year contract in Japan soon and with his boxing career, and a switch back to rugby league also on the cards, Williams knew that the Super 15 final against the Sharks was a big one.
So what did the World Cup winning All Black do? He led the Chiefs to a dominant 37-6 win and not content with a fine performance, he scored the final try of the game, leaping into the crowd to soak up the adulation afterwards.
As always with Williams, there is more to the story. There are rumours in New Zealand that he might play for the All Blacks in the upcoming Bledisloe Cup, even though his Japanese contract should prevent him. He may not be done yet, but if he is, what a way to leave. Skip to 1.45 for his try.
