The spirit of fair play in rugby wasn’t much in evidence after this game in New Zealand. Watch the big fella.
Because of all the trouble last year in football, some have questioned the sense in the pre-match ritual of handshakes. In rugby, the post-match handshake is part of the etiquette but in this game, the spirit of fair play has clearly evaporated.
This is a clip of an Under 18 rugby match between Suburbs, in the maroon jerseys, and Cobden-Kohinoor, the victors, in New Zealand. An incident in the game had led to a Suburbs player being sin-binned and the victim wasn’t happy to let it go, waiting until the handshakes to strike back.
The incident is now under investigation.
