Like the vast majority of men, it seems that Isa Nacewa doesn’t make the decisions in his house and it’ll be his missus that decides whether or not he sees out his career at Leinster.
Thankfully for Leinster fans, Nacewa doesn’t have to think about packing his bags just yet, having recently had his contract extended until the end of the 2013/14 season.
When that time comes, however, a man that has arguably been Leinster’s best player over the last few seasons could be a victim of the IRFU’s policy which restricts the amount of non-Irish players in provincial squads.
Nacewa has already gone on the record to express his desire to finish out his career in Leinster, but it is his wife that wears the trousers in the Nacewa household and the former Fijian international insists that the buck will stop with her.
"You have to live in the moment," Nacewa is quoted as saying in the Irish Independent.
"I'd love to stay here at Leinster for as long as I can, but at the end of the day it might come back to being my wife's decision about the kids and where she wants them to go to school.
"So at the end of the day I think it's tied down to her as to whether we stay or not."
We would have a go at Nacewa for being 'whipped' or being under the thumb, but if we're realistic, the vast majority of men with wives and girlfriends just stand and smile politely while their better half calls the shots.
At least we now know that professional athletes are just like the rest of us in that department.
