We’re still holding out hope that he’ll stay on, but regardless of whether he will or not this is a fitting tribute to probably our greatest ever rugby player.
Ireland take on Italy in Rome today and although there is little apart from pride and ensuring we avoid the wooden spoon to play for, if it is to be Brian O’Driscoll’s last game in a green jersey then we hope the team and the man himself can deliver a performance worthy of the occasion.
We’re not giving up hope that he will hang around just yet – he is yet to give any definitive statement on the matter – but in case he does decide to call it a day, RTE have saw fit to mark the occasion with a montage of some of his greatest moments for Ireland down through the years.
The video above will have the hair standing up on the back of your neck and if that’s not enough O’Driscoll for you, have a look at the extended and equally brilliant tribute to the great man that has been doing the rounds in recent days.
A class act.
