Ireland fans were thanking their lucky stars that Stephen Ferris was cleared to play France earlier this week. Now he’s out to put an end to Ireland’s dismal run in Paris.
An Ireland win in Paris is an all too rare occurrence, but our chances of achieving one this weekend were given a shot in the arm when Stephen Ferris rightly evaded punishment for a tackle on Welsh lock Ian Evans on Sunday and was named in the team to face the French on Saturday night.
Two away wins against France in 40 years is an abysmal record by any stretch of the imagination and the powerful Ulster flanker is hoping that those losses - some of which have been of the humiliating variety - will help spur Ireland to victory this weekend.
If Ireland do win, of course, there's an outside chance of winning the Six Nations Championship and Ferris’ currently stricken colleague Jerry Flannery believes that if Ireland can get the set-piece right at the Stade de France, an upset could be on the cards.
Check out what the lads had to say ahead of tomorrow night’s clash in the video above.
