The 41 year-old Olympic gold medallist from 2000 has struggled in recent times and Deontay Wilder continued his remarkable run of 28 straight knock-outs in the first round to consign Harrison to another demoralising defeat. He actually lasted 12 seconds longer in this fight than his last bout against David Price in October.

Many will view this as the end for the British boxer, who has been on the receiving end of unflattering comments since his decline in the boxing world. Promoter Frank Warren was the latest to have a go at him after Harrison barely landed a jab on his American opponent.

Although he bravely beat the count and pleaded to the referee Terry O'Connor, that he was fit to continue, he clearly was not.

It may be best for all concerned if the boxer decided to hang up his gloves at this point considering his heavy defeats and a run of seven losses in the past 12 years.
