WATCH: Jason Smyth blitzes the field to win his fifth gold medal at the Paralympics

What a fantastic achievement...

Sprinter Jason Smyth has won his fifth gold medal at the Paralympics after he powered past the rest of the field. The Derry athlete blitzed the field in a time of 10.64, which is just 0.16 seconds off his own previous record. Smyth's gold in the T13 100m final is Ireland's first in this year's Paralympics but unfortunately for the fastest Paralympian in the world, organisers opted not to run the 200m race in Rio.
