A true great of the game.

Jack Kyle, who played a huge part in Ireland’s 1948 Grand Slam win, has died at the age of 88.

Kyle was a brilliant out-half who played for Ireland 46 times as well as representing the British and Irish Lions six times.

He was voted the best Ireland player of all time in an IRFU poll in 2002.

He was in Cardiff in 2009 when Ireland won the Grand Slam and this picture with Brian O’Driscoll is one of the most special moments in Irish sport.
