A very positive outlook.
The draw for World Cup 2018 qualifying took place in Russia earlier today and the Republic of Ireland were handed a pretty favourable draw.
We avoided big guns like Germany, Spain, Italy and Holland and this is what’s ahead of us in Group D on the road to Moscow.
Wales
Austria
Serbia
Republic of Ireland
Moldova
Georgia
It’s not easy, but it could have be a lot tougher.
We asked the JOE readers if they thought that Ireland would get out of that group and qualify for the finals, here’s the result.
So, 74% of the people that voted believe we will qualify with the remaining 26% not too confident about our chances.
Fingers crossed the majority are right.
