McIlroy moving back in with his parents

In a move that would shock most 23 year-olds, Rory McIlroy has decided to sell his bachelor pad and move back in with his parents.

The Irish Independent reports that the golfing ace is to sell his €2.5 million luxurious five-bed at Moneyreagh, which also includes a mini-golf course and driving range, tennis court and five-a-side football pitch.

However because the Holywood native spends so much time away travelling to tournaments, he won’t exactly be getting under his parents feet.

“With my global tournament schedule, I am now only making it back home to Northern Ireland for a couple of weeks here and there during the summer months and at Christmas time,” the world number one golfer said.

McIlroy is looking forward to moving back home and enjoying the home comforts.

“Hanging out with my parents and enjoying my mum's home cooking is what I love most about being home in Northern Ireland, so it will suit me to stay with mum and dad,” he admitted.

Ahead of the upcoming Ryder Cup, McIlroy has laughed off his new nickname “The Intimidator”. Greg Norman coined the name when he said that Tiger Woods is now fearful of the two-time Major winner.

However McIlroy does not believe this is the case and thinks it is more humorous than factual.

"How could some little 23-year-old from Northern Ireland with a few wins come up and intimidate him? It's just not possible. I don't know where he (Norman) got that from, but it's not true."

His intimidation factor is unlikely to be enhanced with a move home
