With a mountain to climb today in Chicago, Graeme McDowell turned to the man in all European players hearts.
Trailing 10-6 heading into tonight’s Singles matches, Europe need to perform an almost unprecedented comeback, away from home, against a team playing out of their skin (bar on Mr Woods), to retain the Ryder Cup.
But there is still hope. Ian Poulter is playing like a man possessed for Europe and we’re sure they won’t go down without a fight.
Perhaps echoing what Jose Maria Olazabal said to his troops before they headed out to play, Graeme McDowell had a short and sweet tweet for all European fans to cling to.
