JOE picks four fighters you should definitely look out for at UFC 178

Here is JOE’s list of fighters to look out for on Saturday night…

Alan Loughnane

UFC 178 is on the horizon and from an Irish stand point, Conor McGregor is the star attraction on the night.

However, there is far more on the fight card on Saturday night than just the Crumlin man. In fact, this could be the deepest UFC card in a long time with the main card promising exciting match-ups with the possible exception of the main event.

As well as having great fighters, the card is filled with thrilling fighters capable of highlight reel knockouts and producing plenty of fight of the night contenders.

Here is JOE’s list of fighters to look out for on Saturday night…

Donald Cerrone

The American lightweight is on a four-fight win streak and has a vicious striking game. He won his last fight by TKO following some brutal body kicks and a highlight reel head kick.

The “Cowboy” will be looking to continue his charge up the lightweight rankings on Saturday night. Keep an eye out for his relentless pressing and stinging kicks.

Yoel Romero

Romero comes from a wrestling background but far from your traditional wrestler who like nothing better than to pound opponents into mulch on the ground. Romero has quite a scary striking game that will surely make his scrap with Tim Kennedy worth a watch.

Keep an eye out for his fists, he has iron in them.

Eddie Alvarez

Alvarez is making his debut in the UFC franchise following a successful stint in Bellator where he was champion. Widely regarded for the past few years as the best MMA fighter outside the UFC, his match up with Donald Cerrone is a mouth-watering prospect.

Keep an eye on this fight in general, it won’t go the full distance.

Dominic Cruz

Cruz makes his long awaited return from injury at UFC 178 and the bantamweight will be hoping to hit the ground running. His fight with Takeya Mizugaki will be worth watching to see if he still has what it takes to be a title contender. Does he still have the speed and footwork he once had?

Keep an eye on his stamina, has his injury lay-off been too much?
