Ireland really is one of the best surfing destinations on the planet and if you’re in any doubt, check out these amazing waves at the Cliffs of Moher at the weekend.

You might have heard of Aileens before – surfing enthusiasts certainly will – but for the uninitiated, it’s one of the most spectacular big waves in Ireland and the world, one that has been tackled by some of the world’s best known surfers while also being featured in the renowned surf documentary Waveriders and eh, an AIB ad.

It showed again just why it enjoys such mythical status at the weekend when a number of incredibly brave surfers took it on, including the Billabong Adventure team of Eric Rebiere, Benjamin Sanchis, François Liets and 21-year old female surfer Justine Dupont, who arrived from all over Europe to witness its might.
