Thanks to the mad weather we’ve had in the last couple of days there were some pretty big waves on the west coast yesterday. And these guys were determined to make the most of them.
Only last week we brought you footage of an anonymous surfer successfully riding a massive wave in the renowned surfing spot of Mullaghmore in Sligo and the waves were arguably even wilder yesterday thanks to the onset of the storms which you’ve probably experienced and heard everyone complaining about today.
While most of us prefer to curl up as close to the fire as possible in such conditions, it is the sort of situation that surfers with a lot of talent and a lot of balls to go with it relish, and there were a few board-merchants fitting that description in Mullaghmore yesterday.
Thankfully, someone was on hand to capture amazing footage of those hardy souls surfing some of the biggest and best waves possibly ever seen in this country and although the footage is a little shaky because of the heavy winds, the end result is still spectacular (the good stuff starts about 1:10 into the video above).
