Professional sports stars don’t always make for the best interview subjects immediately after a contest in which they’ve come out on the losing side, but French tennis player Nicolas Mahut was completely blameless for his part in what sounded like one of the most ridiculous interviews ever conducted in a sporting sense earlier today.
Mahut wouldn’t have been too happy about exiting the French Open on home turf on the opening day after defeat to Mikhail Kukushkin earlier today and his mood wouldn’t have been helped when he engaged in the following exchange with a reporter afterwards…
How about that for a brilliant line from Nicolas after the third question though? Game set and match Mahut.
