Video: Watch Blake Griffin nail a 75-foot basket in practise
The NBA season doesn’t get underway until the end of the month, but this amazing shot by Blake Griffin in LA Clippers practise should help you get excited about what lies ahead.
US Sports fans on these shores have the NFL to keep them ticking over for the time being, but many are still waiting impatiently for the return of the NBA season, which kicks into gear when reigning champions Miami Heat take on the Boston Celtics on October 30.
Until then it’s all pre-season games and training for the cream of the crop Stateside and although there will be a lot of hard work in put in for the next few weeks it doesn’t mean they can’t have some fun while they’re at it.
In front of a full house at USC's Galen Center, Griffin gave the crowd something to cheer about with a ridiculous basket from 75 feet, which he casually tossed towards the net as if he was trying to throw a piece of paper into a bin from distance.
It’s not the first time Griffin has wowed spectators in practise; of course, as many of you will remember the little show he put on for a bunch of awestruck fans in the run up to the Olympics in the summer.
Check out the fantastic long-range basket in the clip above. More of this during the regular season please, Blake.
