Let the mutual enmity begin!
The creators of Peep Show have revealed that one of the best TV comedies of the last 11 years will return for a final, ninth season at the end of next year.
That’s right, the adventures of Mark and Jez will come to a conclusion as writers Jesse Armstrong and Sam Bain don’t believe two men cohabiting into middle age is plausible any longer.
However, the door has been left open for a reunion in 10 or 20 years’ time.
“We will be doing series nine, we are not sure exactly when. We don’t plan to kill them off so the opportunity to do more would be there if we chose to,” Bain said.
“We were desperate not to do a bad series – the best way to do that would be to do a climactic series. We knew it would have to end somewhere at some point unless we become immortal.
“We thought if we said this would be the last we could spend a lot of time getting it right.”
No matter how the show ends, it still troubles us that we’ll NEVER KNOW what was going on inside the Super Hans party…
